About The Event
We saw a brief hightlight of this earlier in the year but now for the full thing.
Haunting, beautiful acoustic songs from the Seven Sisters, where the cliffs are high and the seabirds fly. The Light Keepers is a collaboration between the writer and broadcaster Cole Moreton and the musician David Perry, with producer Bruce Pont and singer Phoene Cave.
The music is English contemporary folk tinged with Americana and soul, a modern take on the traditions of balladry and storytelling in song.
The Light Keepers began in response to the novel The Light Keeper by Cole Moreton, a story of love, hope and longing set on the edge of the cliffs around Beachy Head. Their debut album features readings from the book followed by songs inspired by the story of Sarah, Jack and the Keeper.
“Written with human warmth and bittersweet emotion. I loved this.”
Matt Haig, author and co-creator of the album Reasons To Stay Alive.
“The Light Keeper was an emotionally rich and hugely engaging performance. The songs are beautiful and add a real richness to the story itself. Achingly and inspiringly beautiful.”
