To close our 2018  and 10th year Mrs Y’s proud to announce a visit of a solo outing by Grammy Award-winning Alvin Youngblood Hart, who has been described as the cosmic American love child of Howlin Wolf and Link Wray.  Known as a “musician’s musician,” Alvin Youngblood Hart’s praises have been sung by everyone from Bob Dylan to guitar gods Eric Clapton and Mick Taylor. Hart was born in Oakland, California, and spent some time in Carroll County, Mississippi, in his youth, where he was influenced by the Mississippi Country Blues performed by his relatives.  Hart is known as one of the world’s foremost practitioners of country blues.
After two decades on the road, Alvin continues to delight audiences worldwide. Multi – award winner and nominee, way too many to list here but the list includes Grammies, numerous Blues awards including best guitarist and even a BBC Blues record of the year.
As he says ‘When I was a 15 year old kid in my room , I would never believe that I would someday play legendary venues like the Hollywood Bowl , Royal Albert Hall or Mrs Yarringtons Music Club.(That last bit may not be quite what he said) You couldn’t have told me that I’d be in the studio with Taj Mahal, or play onstage with the Allman Brothers Band and members of Thin Lizzy. Some days, it’s a dream job…’
This visit to Mrs Y’s of an acclaimed world class musician should not to be missed by any fan of blues or roots music.
‘The boy got thunder in his hands!’ Taj Mahal
